TFA Dragstrip and Optimus – Breaking the law
Rating: PG
(Sorry for gender!fail - sleepy Wick is sleepy. Thankyou to [livejournal.com profile] antepathy for the subtle heads up, allowing me to save face before anyone noticed <3 *whistles innocently*)

The purple and bronze blur whipped around the expressways at break neck speed. Her laugh could be heard for many seconds after she’d passed by stunned onlookers. Hot on the heels of the sleek racer was a much more bulky blue and red vehicle, moving at seemingly impossible speeds for its size.

Whipping around a sharp corner, skidding with the effort, Dragstrip laughed loudly and zoomed away from the pursuing Prime. “You maybe the hero of Cybertron but that’s only because you hadn’t met me yet.” She taunted, transforming as she leapt from the expressway and scaled swiftly down the side of a tall building.

Optimus transformed and fired his grapple, swinging out to slam straight into Dragstrip’s side, sending them both tumbling to the ground. “I’ve had just about enough of you breaking the law.” He growled ducking a wide swinging fist and landing his own squarely in the Decepticon’s chest.

Scoffing cockily, Dragstrip was not to be slowed down and reverted back to her alt mode to speed away once more. She started laughing again when Optimus started falling behind. The ‘bot was strong but he was not that fast. Not as fast as Dragstrip. “Might wanna lose a few pounds, Prime.” She jeered, disappearing onto the next slip road.

Optimus revved and tried to keep up but to no avail, when his comm. pinged. //I’ve got your back, OP//

//Jazz! Be careful//

//Always, Prime//

Dragstrip’s engine revved loudly as a sleek white race car pulled up alongside him. “What the frag…?”

“Hey there, thought I’d come along for the ride. Now you're getting on my last nerve, so pull over.” Jazz commanded drawing closer to the slightly smaller femme causing her to swerve in order to get away from him.

“Not a chance. No Guardsmech can outrun me. This is why you all lost the war the first time around.” Dragstrip’s tyres shrieked as she accelerated away from the ninja.

Jazz growled softly and in a move that was both terrifyingly fast and impossibly graceful, leapt up at full speed, transforming in mid air and virtually ran along the adjacent buildings, climbing higher to overlook the speeding criminal below.

Optimus having witnessed the stunt from some way behind, immediately pinged his comm. //What are you doing, Jazz?//

//My job, OP.//

//I’m pretty sure I told you to be careful//

Jazz grinned and threw himself from the roof of the tallest building as soon as Dragstrip came into view. //Not to worry, Optimus… I got this.//

Optimus could only watch with growing apprehension as the white and black mech plummeted to the ground, disappearing behind buildings. He sped up as the sound of screeching metal and cursing could be heard. Transforming he charged forward, only to slow down when he saw Dragstrip being hauled off the floor with her arms locked behind her back in stasis cuffs, by a scuffed but smug cyberninja. “Jazz that was completely reckless.” He started sternly.

Dragstrip snorted as Optimus approached. “If you ask me, all cyberninjas have a deathwish.”

Jazz growled dangerously, gripping the Decepticon tighter, eliciting a squeak from the captured 'con. "Watch your mouth, femme."

“And nobody asked you.” Optimus snapped, glaring at the 'con for her distasteful remark, before looking back to Jazz. “That being said… I would rather not have to worry about you throwing yourself off tall buildings, if it’s all the same to you.”

The cyberninja grimaced a little and gave Optimus an apologetic smile. “I promise only to use my powers for good?”

Quirking an optic ridge at the light remark, Optimus shook his helm with a faint smile, resting a hand on Jazz’s shoulder. “Just… a heads up in future… alright?”

“Sure thing, OP… I didn’t mean to scare you.” Jazz smiled back faintly. “Not getting rid of me that easily.”

“Urgh… please…” Dragstrip drawled sardonically. “I think I’m going to purge.”

TFA Cosmos - Antisocial
Rating: PG
Cute

This was a rare and enthralling opportunity that he hadn’t been able to pass up. A chance to really see stars of another galaxy, looking up from another world. The small green mech was virtually indistinguishable amidst the foliage of the park on Earth. Alone he sat, amidst various arrays of equipment and telescopes, all pointing at different parts of the sky.

Humans idly wandered about their business around the small observatory set up. They were used to the visits of Cybertronians now. Ever since the first team led by Optimus had left the two civilisations had worked together, swapping knowledge and on occasion; technology.

Cosmos didn’t care for any of that. He wasn’t interested in politics or in fostering better relations with the humans; all he cared about was the stars. Studying them, learning the new constellations, losing himself to them. Even the organic life surrounding him was not of interest. That was until the park had fallen silent and deep in the branches of an overhanging tree, something started to rustle.

Distracted and irritated by the sound, Cosmos peered up into the tall tree. He was too small to see up very far and his alt mode would be useless in Earth’s gravity. Scowling up at the tree as the leaves shook and rustled again, he began to feel uneasy.

“Who’s there…?” He mumbled, not really wanting an answer.

Another rustle.

Looking about him nervously, Cosmos suddenly decided he’d gathered enough information tonight and maybe tomorrow would be a quieter evening. Slowly, carefully he began closing down his equipment, freezing when the tree rustled louder and he heard a distinctive thud in the soft grass behind him.

Turning slowly, Cosmos froze as he came face to face with a small black cat. Blue optics met green eyes and neither moved. “H—hey… you’re a lot smaller than I anticipated…”

The cat tilted its head and mewed loudly, eliciting a startled jump from the small ‘bot.

“I… don’t understand… are you trying to speak to me?” He leaned closer, peering at the small organic creature, who promptly saw this as an invitation. Cosmos squeaked as the cat leapt up on his shoulder and proceeded to explore his upper frame. The scientist really didn’t know what to do and merely held still as the cat finally settled and curled up on his shoulder, making itself at home.
Glancing at the small furry creature, Cosmos tentatively lifted a finger and ever so lightly brushed over the cat’s fur. The purr that vibrated through his frame made him smile in wonder and he continued to gently, carefully pet his new found companion, much to the cat’s delight.

Satisfied that the little creature was no threat, Cosmos settled back down to study the stars, occasionally mumbling something of interest to the contentedly purring cat. Every so often he received a soft mew in return and it was all the company he really needed.

TFA Optimus – Finding myself
Rating: PG
Fluff - if you tilt your head and squint.

Optimus stared out from the main palace of Iacon. They had returned from Earth some time ago but still he couldn’t get settled. It had always been home and yet it wasn’t anymore. Exhaling softly he bowed his helm, optics dimming as he felt the weight of the world pressing down upon him.

“You know you really need to stop doing this.” A voice muttered grumpily from behind the Prime. “I’m beginning to think you’ve caught something from those organics.”

Glancing back at Sentinel, Optimus turned away. “You know better than to call them that, Sentinel and if you’re just looking for a fight, I’ll thank you to leave me alone.”

The blue Prime harrumphed and marched into the room, coming to a stop beside his fellow Prime.
“You never listen to a word I say do you?” Optimus asked wearily.

“Not if I can help it.” Sentinel replied blankly, his gaze following Optimus’s out over the city below.

Sighing once more and clasping his hands behind his back, Optimus shook his helm. “What do you want, Sentinel?”

The other Prime remained quiet for a short time before lowering his gaze with a soft sigh of his own. “They don’t think Magnus will wake up.” He uttered quietly. “The council is already talking about a replacement.”

“Sentinel if you came here to lobby for the posi—“

“—That’s not why I’m here…” The blue mech interrupted quickly, looking away from Optimus with a frown. “I know what you think of me, but I’m not unfeeling… I didn’t want to be promoted like this.”

Frowning in mild confusion, Optimus gave a sidelong look to the surprisingly subdued mech. “Sentinel, are you alright?”

“Of course I’m alright.” The other Prime snapped suddenly. “Don’t be trying to pass off whatever mental contagion you’ve caught on that organic cess pit on me. I have enough on my plate.”

Optics flickering at the sudden change of tone, Optimus wasn’t quite sure how to respond. “Um… alright…”

“Look we can’t all be weird and useless like you, Optimus and honestly you’re far too in touch with your emotions than is normally healthy for a mech—“

“—Do you have a point to this, Sentinel…?” Optimus cut him off, his tone neutral, used to the sort of back handed insults Sentinel was so accustomed to giving out.

“Augh! There’s just no talking to you.” Sentinel gestured wildly, marching for the door once more, leaving a rather perplexed Optimus in his wake.

“Did you even want to see me?” Optimus asked in confusion.

Pausing at the door, his hand resting on the frame, his helm slightly turned to one side as his optics flickered at Optimus’s question, Sentinel stiffened visibly. “…I’m glad you’re here…” He muttered, almost whispering before vanishing into the corridor beyond.

Optimus stared after him, his mouth parted in stunned silence and for the first time since leaving Earth, since defeating Megatron; he felt a gentle stirring in his spark, the soft murmurings of a purpose.

Very nicely written, but TFA Drag Strip is a girl. An Arcee mold. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Drag_Strip_%28Animated%29

Breaking The Law

"This is why you all lost the war the first time around." The Autobots didn't lose the war in the Animated universe. The Decepticons were granted amnesty in exchange for exile, and have a colony on New Kaon.

While I do enjoy the ficlets, maybe a touch more research wouldn't hurt for accuracy's sake. All of the information cited can be found in the Allspark Almanacs.

I don't own the almanacs. And the series was never shown in full here and I wasn't about to research spontaneous drabbles at 1.04am. But your criticism is noted. I am however writing these ficlets in order to regain my own inspiration for writing and I'm not worrying too much about canon accuracy at this moment in time.

Although I appreciate the constructive criticism, the fact that you felt you had to anon for this is just bad form, especially when there are so many, more inaccurate tf fics out there for you to snipe at, so right now; I frankly don't give a damn.

Thanks for reading.

I apologize if it came off as such, but I wasn't trying to snipe. I was offering information that may not have been known, and citing my source. I tend to sound a little rough at times, and I apologize.

I'm not anoning out of cowardice, as you seem to believe, but because I don't have an account. I enjoy reading ficlets and drabbles written by a few writers on this site, and I loosely follow them in a fashion.

Glad to see you're trying to get your inspiration going again though. Looking forward to more of your writing.

Well this then is what they call a misunderstanding. A mixture of my tiredness and paranoia born of being burned unduly by anons in the past.

As one who also lacks tact at the worst of times, I suggest; water under the bridge? :)

And I do appreciate the crit (just probably not in the am of the day nor from anons, which is obvious I'm sure).

I am glad you enjoy the ficlets. My apologies for responding so brashly.

Quite alright. I'm glad we could come to a graceful resolution, as I would have been positively mortified if I had permanently pissed off one of my favorite writers. ;_;

I am quite familiar with said water, as I tend to hurl myself off the bridge quite often due to this sandpaper tongue.

I'm sorry past anons have burned you. We're not all terrible! I swear! *offers cookies* c:

:3 No worries. I don't get permanently pissed off. Not over stuff like this. Not in my nature. I also do not like conflict.

That was precious. Adorable chubbles and a fluffy little friend.

Really enjoyed the last one as well. Both Optimus and Sentinel were very well characterized.

Wonderful! Oh, Cosmos with a kitty is just the epitome of adorable.

"I promise only to use my powers for good?" this line made me grin so hard.

I have been, ridiculously, avoiding TFA for too long now, and every time I read one of your stories, it makes me want to rectify that. Thanks for sharing these :D

TFA is easy to write once you get into the swing of things, but there's a lot of canon that isn't always readily available so it's easy to make mistakes but I do encourage the writings. I personally don't feel TFA gets enough attention :3

Thanks for reading.

I loved the Drag Strip/Optimus/Jazz one, the snark was great and your descriptions of the chase were fabulous. Still have one little 'him' instead of 'her' in there.

Cosmos and kitties FTW! Both are cute and together, they are wonderful.

I really liked how in-character you kept Sentinel and Optimus. The to-and-fro of Sentinel is very difficult to get, but you have it spot-on. Very nice job.

I'm really enjoying this little drabbles and want to encourage you to continue! It's terrific to see you doing these and having fun with them!
