Christmas 2012

wicked3659I had started writing out a full journal post with pictures and everything but I accidentally pressed the back button and wiped the lot T-T
I've lost the will to carry on writing a journal post now, there's writing to be done and wine to be drunk so I'll just say this.
2012, the year in which the world didn't end has had it's ups and downs. I've had a trip to Singapore metante_luce and purajo, Auto assembly where I met Michael Bell and ante_luce came to visit. There's been births, my niece and my friend had her first baby. Wedding announcements of friends and there was some zombie action at Halloween as well as dressing up like a weeping angel.
There were disappointments, crashes in confidence, failed dates (all two of them), bad weather, some doubt about my future, doubts about my friends.
There was some fun and some weird and some twilight :p some job successes, some personal successes, I passed my grade one piano exam and got 85% half way through my third year of learning Mandarin.
I also moved into my new flat, got a flat mate, who turned out to be really nice, I'm still here which is good. :)
And that brings us to Christmas eve 2012. I turn 29 tomorrow. I honestly never thought I'd make it this far and there were some touch and go moments there for a while.
I had a phone interview on Thursday for a teaching English job in Singapore. The lady emailed me on Sunday to give me a job offer. I start on the 29th of Jan 2013, teaching english in a learning centre to 3-7 year olds. It's scary and exciting and I alternating between, laughing, crying and wretching ^_^;;
I handed my notice in work today. I finish on the 21st with the aim to fly out on the 24th of Jan, give myself a couple of days to get settled. I've not booked flights yet or had my employment pass approved yet, I'm hanging on doing anything until the visa is approved. I've not got any time to panic or even think about the decision. It's happening and it's happening fast.ante_luce is kindly letting me stay with her and her family which takes some pressure off finding somewhere to live :3 and it's fairly close to the new job.
So 2012 has flown by but it already doesn't compare to 2013. Which will be the scariest and most exciting year of my life. If I'm good enough I get to teach for 2 years and hopefully apply to extend my contract if I like it in 2015.
